Our Rooms
Nurturing the individual needs of children aged between three months to school age
Welcome to a place of imagination and creativity, a place filled with warmth, smiles and hugs and loads of great conversation.
At Mother Goose each child is assigned a Key Person, someone who is responsible for those critical one to one moments of caring and play, nurturing and communication as well as learning.
For Babies
Our Ducklings Room
We provide a safe world where each baby receives individual attention from caring practitioners who follow the same comfortable routine your baby has at home. We nurture babies through a variety of activities and learning opportunities.
To guarantee the highest standard of care and attention, our child ratios are 1 adult to 3 babies.
For Toddlers
Our Fishes Room
We ensure within our toddler room we create a positive environment, whilst developing and maintaining positive partnerships with parents, carers and children, by welcoming all into our setting.
We pride ourselves on the opportunities we deliver, ensuring all children gain the best foundations, preparing each child individually for their next transition in life.
Toddlers are keen to explore the world around them, therefore we ensure our rooms are an exciting place to come and learn through play and focused activities.
We monitor each child's development progress by keeping up-to- date observations. It's important to encourage independence and educational skills as children develop.
Our practitioners at Mother Goose Day Nursery work hard to create unique activities for the children such as exploring food, playing with new textures and using different materials.
To guarantee the highest standard of care and attention, our child ratios are 1 adult to 4 toddlers.
For Pre-school
Our Dolphins Rooms
Children enjoy a wide variety of activities which creates the desire to think for themselves, solve problems, work with others and gain an increasing understanding of the world and how it works. With an emphasis on language, pre-writing skills and maths, our Ready for School activities help further extend learning from the nursery to home in fun and enjoyable ways and ultimately prepare your child for school.
Our preschool is designed over two rooms providing the children with a spacious area in which they can explore, be messy, create, role play and also find quiet areas.
To guarantee the highest standard of care and attention, our child ratios are 1 adult to 8 children.
Quiet Room
Our quiet room is an additional free flexible area. We use this room with small groups of children of all ages in many ways:
- Heuristic play
- School readiness
- Sound CD's and Talking boxes
- Speech therapy sessions
- Sensory Room
- Quiet time
- Story Sacks
Garden
We have a large fully enclosed outdoor learning environment which all our children access on a daily basis giving our children the following opportunities:
- Learning outside the classroom supports the development of healthy and active lifestyles by offering children opportunities for physical activity, freedom and movement, and promoting a sense of well-being.
- Learning outside the classroom gives children contact with the natural world and offers them experiences that are unique to outdoors, such as direct contact with the weather and the seasons.
- Playing and learning outside also helps children to understand and respect nature, the environment and the interdependence of humans, animals, plants, and lifecycles.
- Outdoor play also supports children's problem-solving skills and nurtures their creativity, as well as providing rich opportunities for their developing imagination, inventiveness and resourcefulness.
- Children need an outdoor environment that can provide them with space, both upwards and outwards, and places to explore, experiment, discover, be active and healthy, and to develop their physical capabilities.
- The outdoor environment offers space and therefore is particularly important to those children who learn best through active movement. Very young children learn predominately through their sensory and physicalexperiences which supports brain development and the creation of neural networks.
